CEC's courses are designed to cater to the industry's urgent demand for skilled professionals in the fields of computers and electronics. CEC offers courses leading to four-year B.Tech. degrees in three branches. These branches are: * Computer Science and Engineering (formerly, Computer Engineering) The degrees are awarded by Cochin University of Science and Technology and the courses are recognized by AICTE. More over, the courses running in the institution are accredited by National Board of Accreditation. The syllabi are updated every two years to keep them in sync with changing trends in the above branches of engineering. |

| The Students' Executive Senate (CEC Senate) |
The Students Executive Senate, simply known as 'CEC Senate', is the supreme student body. The members of the senate are elected by and from the students, with two representatives from each class. The objectives of the senate are: To train the students of the college in the duties, responsibilities and rights.To organize debates, seminars, group discussions, work squads, tours etc. To encourage sports, arts and other cultural, social or recreational activities. |

| IEEE student branch |
An IEEE student branch was formed in CEC in mid 1997, with the goal of keeping the students in touch with the latest technological advances as they happen across the world. An IEEE library was inaugurated in December 1999. The library houses various journals and magazines of IEEE.The IEEE student branch comes under the IEEE Kerala Section (http://www.ewh.ieee.org/r10/kerala/) CEC's IEEE student members have presented various projects at State and National level conferences and competitions.An IEEE Robotics Initiative Program has also commenced with different groups designing different types of robots. |
| PRODDEC (Product Design and Development Centre) |
PRODDEC provides a common platform for students of both branches to generate synergy based on their ideas and sharpen their technical skills. It organizes seminars by professionals and engineers and publishes a technical journal called Breakthrough.It has played a major role in developing interest in hardware technologies among students. |
| FOCES (Forum of Computer Engineering Students) |
FOCES has succeeded in organizing events, keeping in mind its aim to usher the students into a whole new world of ideas, knowledge, and practical training and job prospects.Newsletters and CDs are brought on regular basis to keep the students abreast of the latest trends.Its motto is "Excellence in every step". |
| FLOSS (Free/Libre/Open-Source Software) Cell |
FLOSS Cell has been organised in view of instilling in young minds the spirit of Open Source and Linux. The cell conducts Linux familiarisation classes, installation sessions and other activities in a regular basis.FLOSS Cell also helps install and maintain systems and LAN in near by government school. |
| ExESS (ElectronicS Engineering Students Society) |
The aim of this society is to increase the technical awareness of its members by adequate exposure to the latest developments. The activities of the ExESS have helped students in attending various state and national level contests. Apart from conducting technical learning sessions for Component familarisations and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, ExESS also does hands on training sessions regarding familiarising the students with the basic elements of Electronics like Soldering, PCB fabrication etc. |

| Santhwanam |
Integrated with the NSS unit, it ignites the vision of providing selfless service to the society. Orientation programs and seminars highlighting value based education are conducted to promote virtue of simple living and high thinking amongst the students. Santhwanam undertakes campus cleaning drives. The unit received laurels for sending its volunteers to the Pulse-Polio Immunization programs of the Government of India. Santhwanam has organized orphanage visits. It has done lots of charity work and is the one organization that brings but the human side in an Engineer. |
| Nature Club |
CEC has joined hands with the "Save the Earth" global movement through the `Aranyam' forestry club. Group discussions, awareness camps and occasional visits to nearby sanctuaries are some of the activities of the club.

| Arts Club |
ACE (Arts Club for Engineers) provides a platform for students to develop their creative skills. Its various associations and clubs like Music club, Quiz and Debate club and Audio Visual club bring together students with common interests and hobbies. The Arts Club organizes "Utsav", the college arts festival. |
